Wendy Vroom is a botanical and nature photographer, specializing in macro photography.  She lives and works in Pennington, New Jersey.  Although Wendy’s early career path led her to the corporate world for a time, she recently decided to follow her heart and returned to making images.  On a trip to Chicago in 2004, Wendy found herself in the midst of their annual “Tulip Days on Magnificent Mile”.  Tulips of every color imaginable lined the streets for miles, and she was immediately absorbed.  At the end of a compelling weekend of photographing tulips, she discovered a photography contest associated with the event.  Her photos from that weekend went on to win the contest, and were used to represent the 2005 event on brochures and banners that lined Michigan Avenue.

Wendy has a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Photography from Barry University in Miami, Florida, however much of her photographic education came from hands-on experience following her schooling.  She gained invaluable experience by working as an assistant for several photographers early in
her career.  She learned a tremendous amount a
bout light, exposure, technique
and equipment in a variety of professional situations.  Eventually, Wendy went on to work for a well known commercial photographer in New York City, and was
able to experience the industry on a much larger scale.
